You sense a call to plant -
but you don’t want do it alone.Mission Igniter walks with church planters from discernment to launch, to sustainability, providing the assessment, training, coaching, and support needed to build something faithful and sustainable.
Church planting is God’s primary means for reaching new people and multiplying the church.
Planters often carry vision before they have structure, strategy, or support.
Turning calling into a sustainable church requires planning, systems, and wise accompaniment.
The risk is real—for leaders, families, and communities—no one should carry it alone.
The Church Planter Journey
Planting a church isn’t a single decision—it’s a journey of discernment, preparation, and sustained faithfulness. Mission Igniter walks with planters through every phase, helping them move from calling to clarity, from vision to action, and from launch to long-term fruitfulness.
Phase 1: Discern
Before a plan is written or a launch date is set, planters need clarity. This phase helps leaders prayerfully discern whether church planting is the right next step—and what kind of planter and context will best support long-term health.
Through trusted assessment tools and guided interpretation, we help planters understand how they are wired, how they lead under pressure, and what will sustain them over time. This clarity reduces avoidable pain later and strengthens confidence for both the planter and those discerning alongside them.

Phase 2: Plan
Preparation & Strategy
Discernment becomes movement through action. In this phase, planters translate calling into clear, actionable plans shaped by mission, context, and sound strategy.
We help planters move beyond ideas and aspirations to develop comprehensive multiplication plans—plans that can be shared, evaluated, funded, and implemented. The result is confidence, alignment, and a clear path forward.

Why Mission Igniter?
Church planting requires more than good intentions or strong personalities. It requires wise discernment, tested frameworks, and leaders who understand both the spiritual and practical realities of the work.
Mission Igniter is a team of missiologists, church planters, pastors, coaches, and network leaders who have lived this work from the inside. We’ve started churches, led networks, built systems, navigated failure, and learned what it takes to sustain healthy multiplication over time.
We don’t offer formulas or shortcuts. We walk with leaders, providing clarity where decisions carry weight and support where the responsibility is heavy.

Planters Journey Training
Forming the planter. Clarifying the vision. Building a faithful foundation.
The Planter’s Journey is a guided training experience for church planters that applies first-century church planting principles to present-day contexts. Drawing from Church Plantology, this journey integrates spiritual formation, contextual discernment, and strategic clarity as planters begin developing their own multiplication plan.
This is more than training—it’s a formative journey that helps planters build sustainably and faithfully from the start.
Free Methodist leaders in the credentialing track can take this course for credit through the FMCUSA Center for Pastoral Formation.
Most church planters are called to lead people and shape mission—not manage systems and paperwork. That’s okay. Mission Igniter provides practical, behind-the-scenes administrative support so planters can focus on the work God has called them to do.
Administrative services are available for church plants fully incubated by Mission Igniter and, in some cases, as outsourced support for plants launching independently. Our goal is to remove unnecessary burden and complexity during the most demanding seasons of planting.
Admin Services Available:
Bookkeeping & Financial Support
Stewarding resources well is critical in the early stages of a church plant. Our team provides basic bookkeeping services, helps develop multi-year budgets, and offers back-office accounting support. Churches using our services also gain access to discounted accounting and church management software.
Insurance Support
Navigating insurance for a new church and its staff can be confusing and costly. Mission Igniter helps secure appropriate coverage as part of the incubator process, with property and liability insurance often available at little to no cost during the startup phase.
Incorporation & 501(c)(3) Filing
The incorporation and IRS filing process can be daunting and time-consuming. We walk alongside planters to complete required state and federal filings accurately and efficiently—so nothing critical gets missed.
Payroll Services
Processing payroll and managing tax filings can quickly become a burden for new churches. We provide payroll support to ensure staff are paid correctly and filings are handled responsibly.
