Training Details
Dates: Monday-Tuesday, May 18–19, 2026
Location: Williamston Free Methodist Church, 4400 N Williamston Rd, Williamston, MI 48895 (approximately one hour from the Detroit airport).

About the Training
Research consistently shows that coaching is a key factor in the success of launching new church expressions. Mission Igniter has developed a network of trained and certified coaches who walk alongside church planters as they develop and implement strong plans for launching new ministries.

Coaches meet regularly with planters to provide encouragement, prayer, goal setting, and accountability throughout the planting journey.

This Coach Certification Training is designed to prepare leaders to serve as effective coaches within their own ministry context. Participants will gain the philosophy, practical skills, and coaching frameworks needed to guide church planters and leaders in developing and implementing a comprehensive church multiplication plan. Additionally, this training could be helpful for equipping leaders to coach LMCs and CMCs in their formation processes.

One recent participant shared, Mission Igniter's coaching certification was the most practical training I have ever received. The five-step guide in "The Coach Model" clearly articulates the coaching process and provides a tool that keeps sessions focused and meaningful.”

MULTIPLIERS JOURNEY

The purpose of this Multipliers Journey (MJ) process is designed to move a church from programs to disciple-making, weekend services to gospel movements, and ultimately from church growth to church multiplication. The MJ co::Lab includes the modeling, co-leadership and training through a collaborative laboratory of churches leading to the development of each church’s multiplication plan.

co::Lab Environment- A journey that trains and equips pastors and church leaders to navigate their ministry and develop their church’s Multiplication Plan. The process consists of  workshop sessions over a five-month window. Each church team should consist of the Senior/Lead Pastor and up to three additional people which should include staff pastors or at least one other staff member or lay leader. A commitment from every Senior Pastor to prioritize each session is required.

Pastor Ryan Willson from the Dearborn Free Methodist Church shares:

“Participating in the Multipliers Journey has been a transformative experience for our team! We’ve not only learned but also relearned invaluable principles of multiplication that have reshaped our approach to ministry. It turns out that multiplication isn’t as daunting as it seems—it’s actually within our reach! Throughout this journey, we’ve come together to clarify our top priorities for prayer and creating a discipleship culture. The shared experiences and insights have given us a common language, enabling us to fine-tune our prayer practices and discipleship efforts.  We’re now more energized and living into our vision of becoming a dynamic, life-giving stream! We are excited to offer hope and love to all, transcending barriers, engaging communities, and leaving behind a lasting legacy of transformed lives. The Multipliers Journey has truly ignited our passion for making a difference!”

Multipliers Journey is offered throughout the year. Contact JULIE WEBER for more information.

PLANTER’S JOURNEY

Utilizing Church Plantology content, leaders will learn to apply first-century church planting principles to present-day church planting in their own unique context. During this training, you will learn and apply these timeless principles of church planting as you begin to develop your own multiplication plan. You will discover how to tend to your soul as a church planter, identify your context and church planting model, develop your strategy, build a team, and clarify the mission and vision of your new church.

Forge Missionary Formation Residency Cohorts

Forge cohorts train and equip everyday people to live as missionaries where they're already doing life. One of the primary ways we do this is through our Missionary Formation Residency. The residency is a 6-month discipleship cohort experience that will enable any individual to develop a missionary posture and lifestyle – where they live, work, and play.

Mission Igniter has started 3 Forge Hubs which each facilitate cohorts in their area.

FORGE MOTOWN
FORGE ANN ARBOR
FORGE MICHIANA

FORGE MICHIANA offers regular virtual Missional Formation Cohorts. If you are interested in journeying with a small group of committed Christ-followers who long to see the mission of Jesus lived out in their lives and local church, contact Dwight Weber.

FORGE MOTOWN plans to offer a Missional Formation Cohort this fall. For more information, contact Mark VanValin Director of Detroit Initiative, Mission Igniter.
