God Is Moving in Jackson, Michigan

In the heart of Jackson, Michigan, God is writing a new story of hope through CITY FREE Church Plant. Led by Pastor Tim Flickinger and his team, CITY FREE is stepping boldly into people’s everyday lives—meeting neighbors with compassion, walking alongside the hurting, and watching God transform hearts in unexpected places.

One powerful story began when a young woman, clearly searching for something more, felt prompted to seek out one of CITY FREE’s co-leaders. As they sat together talking, the young gal's phone rang. It was her drug dealer. When the call ended, the conversation grew deeper. With tears streaming down her face, she listened as Courtlyn, the CITY FREE leader, gently shared the hope of Jesus. Right there, in the middle of brokenness, God’s love broke through—bringing light, peace, and the promise of new life.

In another moment of ministry, the CITY FREE team brought three neighborhood kids to a local Kid’s Entrepreneur Day, a bustling event with over 80 vendors. These young, aspiring artists proudly displayed and sold their paintings while sharing their creative vision. It was a day filled with lots of fun, encouragement, and the excitement of discovering their God-given potential.

Through simple obedience and a heart for people, CITY FREE is watching God build a community of hope and belonging. As they continue this faith adventure, lives are being touched and transformed by the love of Jesus, one conversation, one act of kindness, one step of faith at a time.
